Koepke Nov 2019

“In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” ( Philippians 4:6-7).

Doug and Carolyn are thankful for you our family, friends, and prayer partners.

Here are others on our Thanksgiving prayer list.

Thankful for our Home Office and visitors.

Doug, Susy, Karen, Cathy, Mayhoward, Erica, Shakiyla, Carolyn, and Steve

Thankful for Classical Christian Education and Preschool and Rafiki Teachers!

Please join us in praying thanksgiving for The New Old Way—A Conference on Classical Christian Education in Africa. Together with the Presbyterian University of East Africa, The Rafiki Foundation was pleased to host a conference exploring the benefits of classical Christian education on the African continent in November 2019 at the All Saints’ Cathedral in Nairobi, Kenya.

We are thankful for Rafiki children who want to learn how to weld goal posts!

Thanking God for His Goodness!

Carolyn and Doug Koepke, currently serving in the Rafiki Village Nigeria, have served with the Rafiki Foundation since 2000. Doug is the Village Plant Manager, and Carolyn is the Orphan Care Administrator.

After visiting friends serving with Rafiki, Carolyn and Doug began to consider how they could use their skills to serve the Lord. They have learned that God uses His people to accomplish His great purposes.

Before joining Rafiki as missionaries, Doug served in the United States Air Force and worked as an automotive technician while Carolyn studied nursing, receiving bachelor’s and master’s degrees before becoming a nurse and nursing instructor.

Carolyn and Doug say that living in Africa and raising two of their daughters on the field has made them seek compassion, wisdom, and patience in all things. They have become less enamored with material goods and more focused on serving the people around them. In their almost twenty years on the field, they have been reminded to continually pray and thank God for His provision. Carolyn and Doug encourage those who are considering entering the field to seek family and friends to pray for them.

The Koepke’s remain excited about the education Rafiki children receive, noting that Rafiki’s curriculum profoundly impacts the lives of children as they receive an excellent education which demonstrates God’s truth, beauty, and goodness. Carolyn and Doug also thank God for the privilege of witnessing spiritual transformation in the Rafiki children and staff through the daily Bible study.

Merry Christmas to you all!
