Harbick Nov 2019

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Greetings from Nigeria! Since Thanksgiving comes the end of this month, I want to share some of the many things for which I am thankful to our God.

When I had been here just a few months, I told you of the departure of three of our Rafiki School graduates—Lydia, Joy, and Joanna.

bingham
Off to Bingham October 2015

They were the first to leave Rafiki and to travel to the Abuja area to attend Bingham University. Well, four years have passed and the three have graduated from Bingham. They all received exit certificates. Lydia even graduated with first class honors. They left November 4 to begin their one-year national service. Graduation occurs after this is completed.

We have graduated four more sets of students; the last group of nineteen awaits word from the University of Jos, to which all have applied after passing all high school exit exams and the national qualifying exam for universities—we were very proud!

RICE continues to go well. We have graduated two more students. Rafiki has also employed several of these graduates into our Rafiki School, and they are doing very well. We are also having several help out in RICE, especially in math, English literature, and marking quizzes and other assignments.

With the graduation of over fifty of our orphans, we are in process of converting the empty cottages into classrooms. We are nearing completion of six cottages for the preschool. We are adding new students and will have 108 preschool students age 3 to 5 at the beginning of the year 2020!

Prayer:

University of Jos to inform the students of placement.

• Students in both RICE and Rafiki School to strive for excellence in everything.

• Continued peace and protection in Nigeria as prices climb.

Your prayers have been felt and so appreciated. Safety here is found in the center of His will. Thank you!
