Vicky and Mike Koch

Serving In: Rwanda
External ID: 153

Mike and Vicky Koch first began their work with Rafiki in 2002 in Malawi, where they were instrumental in the construction of the Rafiki Village Malawi. They then served in Zambia from January 2006 through June 2010 before joining the Rafiki Village Rwanda in July of 2010. Currently, Mike is the Village Administrator and Plant Manager, and he also takes care of Village finances. Vicky is the Village Headmaster and Music Teacher.

In their time on the field, the couple says that God has richly blessed them and taught them many things. They have learned that life is precious, that Christ's church is varied and beautiful, and that God alone makes Rafiki's efforts fruitful on the African continent.

When asked why they chose to serve with Rafiki, they said they were “called by God through his special messenger." Rosemary Jensen, Rafiki's founder, sent them a letter every year for a time, encouraging them to join the mission field.

The couple was married on the 30th of December, 1972. Mike and Vicky Koch are thankful to the Lord for allowing them to serve with the Rafiki Foundation in Rwanda.

“To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:17).
