Rafiki Foundation  |  Training Africans to Transform Africa for Christ

My Name is

Child Village: Uganda
Child ID: CB072
Deo's parents are both deceased. His father died right before he was born and his mother right after. He was placed in the care of his impoverished grandmother but the burden of caring for Deo became overwhelming. Deo was referred by social welfare to the Rafiki Village in Uganda where he now thrives in a cottage with his Rafiki Mother and brothers. Deo's favorite subjects are science, art, and math. He enjoys practical things. For example, he likes printing, making pottery, drawing maps, designing art pieces, and using the microscope. He said his teachers are continuously advising him to work harder and to revise his weaker subjects; they are geography, Luganda, and biology. Deo recently studied migrations and settlements in East Africa and found it interesting that the movements of people groups generate cultural change and trade.
