“Rafiki” means friend in Swahili and conveys the purpose of the Foundation—to befriend orphans and widows in their distress (James 1:27). We invite you to become a “rafiki” to Africa’s orphans and widows by sponsoring an orphan or missionary, by shopping at the Rafiki Exchange or the online Gift Catalog, or by giving your time as a volunteer or prayer group member.
For as little as $25 per month, you can help to meet the physical, educational, and medical needs of a young child. As a sponsor, you will receive an initial profile of your assigned child. Thereafter, you will receive regular updates of their educational progress and personal growth. Your sponsorship will profoundly change the life (both physical and spiritual) of an African child. Knowing that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and hopelessness in Africa, Rafiki is asking you to join us in educating the next generation of business leaders, educators, physicians, clergy. . .and godly husbands and wives. Read more about providing a scholarship
Rafiki Overseas Staff (ROS) are career missionaries who bring leadership and expertise to the Rafiki Training Villages. Though our missionaries have diverse skills, professional training, and spiritual gifts, they are united by their love for God and by God’s call on their lives to mission service. Support Rafiki’s work with widows and impoverished women of the African churches by purchasing their unique handcrafts. The products come from both West and East Africa and the proceeds from the sales provide much-needed income to these women. Shop at the Rafiki Exchange
The online gift catalog provides other ways you can support the mission of the Rafiki Foundation. We encourage you to prayerfully look through the items and ask God what role he would have you play in caring for and educating orphans. See Rafiki's online gift catalog
Whether you have just a few hours or several days, we would love to have you lend a helping hand! Volunteer opportunities include packing Rafiki Bible Study and School Curriculum for shipment to Africa, pricing products at the Rafiki Exchange, assisting with data input, and working on the grounds of our fifty-seven acre facility in Eustis, Florida. Rafiki Prayer Groups (RPG) pray monthly for the needs of the ministry—the Rafiki Overseas Staff (ROS), the Rafiki Training Villages, and the Rafiki Home Office. Groups receive a copy of the RPG manual, prayer cards for the ROS, brochures, a Rafiki calendar, the Rafiki Report, the Rafiki DVD, and monthly updates from the ten Rafiki Training Villages. Please consider joining or starting a RPG and become a vital partner in Rafiki’s ministry to African orphans and widows. Read more about Rafiki Prayer Groups
