Martha Newton
Martha Newton is currently the Orphan Care Administrator at the Rafiki Village Rwanda, where she has served since 2015. Before serving with Rafiki, she earned degrees in secretarial science and court reporting, and she was also a freelance court reporter.
When Martha began to tell the Lord she longed to serve him in full-time ministry, she was initially unsure of what it would look like. God used Martha’s Bible Study Fellowship leader to introduce her to the Rafiki Foundation. She says she was looking at two other orphan ministries at the time, but she felt that Rafiki was a good fit for her because she appreciated the Bible-based structure and the family-like setting provided for the Rafiki children. She says that living in Africa has caused her to be a bit more daring as a driver and credits many taxicab rides in Chicago as helping "educate" her for driving in Africa.

She is thankful to serve the One True God—who is the same in all countries and all continents, working in and through every one of his children.
